Hi! Welcome to my website and to a view into my work. I weave coffins, urns and baskets using willow in New England.
I teach workshops! This is my fifth season of teaching workshops throughout New England.
In a two-day workshop, you will learn about harvesting, propagation, storage and preparation of willow for weaving. Make a round-base basket in shape and size of your choice. Learn traditional weaves including twining, 3-rod waling, English randing, and 4-rod waled top border. Choose from three different handle designs and go home with a beautiful willow basket.
In a one day workshop, we may do the advanced basket described above, but most likely it will be frame basketry, a very old basket tradition from the Roma people of Europe.
Please explore the Baskets page on this site to see pictures of what you could make!
Note: the workshop takes a fair bit of hand strength.
